What is Android One ?
Android One is an Operating System which was aimed for emerging markets and a standard through which Mobile Manufacturers can use these specifications and come up with affordable handsets for first time users how are not willing to pay high prices but require same functioning. So this is will be an option to control grey markets. Some basic and non branded handsets had the problems of security features but with Android One Google will be managing the updates which should help the mobile users to overcome the problems. Initial devices were to have functions of MediaTek’s quad core MT6582 Mobile SoC.
Android One is an initiative by Mr.Sundar Pichai who is a Senior Vice President at Google, also as said by him he has already used these phone for some time and works unlike any high-end phones.
These handsets will first enter the emerging markets like Sri Lanka, Philippines, Indonesia, Nepal and India.
Micromax which holds strong user base in India which had come up with these mobile phones on Sept, 2014 with its competitors like Spice and Karbonn.
